Tourist sites of Thailand

The Thailand offers a large variety of historical tourist sites as well as natural.

The first tourist destination of Thailand east Pattaya located at 147 km in the south-east of Bangkok. In the South, the island of Phuket, very appreciated for its beaches and its night life, also attracts many tourists. From there it is easy to join the islands Phi-Phi. On the other side of the gulf of Phang Nga, is Krabi and its beach of Ao Nang. The traces of the tsunami of December 26th, 2004 were quickly unobtrusive . Other side of this long strip of land which the South of Thailand constitutes, is the island of Koh Samui, appreciated by the holiday makers in July and August because it rains there less than in Phuket during the rain season. Koh Samui is certainly reached than Phuket by tourism of mass. The traveller who goes up towards north while going along the east coast finds the town of Petchburi, his many temples and the richnesses which surround it, in particular the palate of Phra Nakom Khiri (or Khao Wang) which extends on three hills and is invaded by the monkeys. Then, Hooted Hin, seaside resort of the easy inhabitants of Bangkok, like Cha-amndts. While continuing on the coast, Rayong, tourist is located because more industrial (oil refineries), then, well with the East, Chanthaburi, known for its market with the invaluable stones (ruby, sapphires, topazes, opals, etc) which is held three days per week in full street in the middle of the salesmen of fruit and vegetables.

Bangkok, the capital and its 10 million inhabitants, attracts the tourists who visit of number the Wat Phra Kaeo or the Wat Arun, and on the other side of the river Chao Praya, are other almost deserted sites, like the Wat Suthat, the Wat Benchama Bophit (out of marble) or Phukhao Thong, the " mountain of or".

On the road of North, are the historic sites of Ayutthaya, Sukhothai and Chiang May.

Is of Thailand is much tourist. Only 1% of the tourists go there. On the trunk road 205 in direction of Khorat, coming from Bangkok, close to the town of Thep Its Thit is Pha Hin Ngam, hill a 800 meters height whose top covers wild orchises in July. This area is definitely less hot than Bangkok or than the road of North towards Sukhotai because it is located on a plate at 250m of altitude. Around Khorat, the Khmer temple of Phi May and that of Phnom Rung are located. Always more to the East the river Mekong passes.
