Tourism in the Tarn
The Tarn is a tourist department under several aspects.
Historical and cultural tourism
The principal cities abound in architectural sites and monuments. The cities of the North-West are out of red bricks, those of stone south-east:- Albi One finds a splendid cathedral strengthened out of bricks single in the world. One finds there also the palate of Berbie, old episcopal palate. It shelters today the museum of Toulouse-Lautrec. All the historical center, old Albi, deserves the visit for its houses.
- Ambialet It is a place with share in France because it is a peninsula with a splendid panorama on the level of the Prieuré.
- Castrate the quays on Agout and the Musée Goya.
- Carmaux Old mining city, it redécouvre tourism with the museum of the mine of Cagnac-the-Mines and the site Cape discovered.
- Graulhet With its Old Bridge, built in 1244 and classified Historic building. The medieval District of Panessac (bordered of masonries with sides of wood and corbellings of XVIe and XVIIe centuries). L'Hostellerie of Lyon d' Or, superb medieval masonry (15th century), classified with the inventory of the Historic buildings. Henri de Navarre, future Henri IV, made a greedy stopover there.
- Gaillac It is also a city out of brick reds. The city is famous for its wine. These some aspects contribute to growing tourism of the Tarn.
