Tourism in Loir-et-Cher
Known for its inheritance (castles of Chambord, Chaumont-sur-Loire, Blois, Cheverny, Commanderie d' Arville…), the Loir-et-Cher saw its tourist radiation growing with the inscription by UNESCO of the Loire Valley to the world heritage of humanity, under the cultural landscapes. Twenty-six communes of Loir-et-Cher are concerned with this classification. With this environment and this inheritance, tourism is an activity which counts in Loir-et-Cher. Foot, bicycle or horse, the hiking roads of the department make it possible to discover the landscapes and the sites of Loir-et-Cher, of most famous with the more secrets.The General advice arranges on his territory the cycle route " The Loire with vélo" who will make it possible soon to cross the department on a hundred kilometers while discovering the royal river and his splendid castles. To date, more than 50 kilometers are already proposed with the cyclistes.
It contributes to the installation of the footpaths in bond with the departmental committees of hiking and équestre.
It also supports the edition of cards circuits of the footpaths, registered voters in the departmental Plan of the routes of walk and excursion (PDIPR), contributing to the promotion of the important network of marked out circuits of Loir-et-Cher.
