Tourism in Finistere
Surrounded to two thirds by the sea, 1200km of coasts, showing landscapes varied and located at the end of the Armorican Peninsula, the department of the Finistere offers important possibilities of Tourisme .
Its oceanic Climat knows rather important variations in the course of the years while remaining rather soft with durations of night freezing definitely lower than the more continental areas.
The coast, with the often magic aspect, is sometimes beaten by the floods at the time of the Marée S of the autumn and the winter during which time can be hard and even tempestuous.
The maritime activities are a strong point of the economy of the department.
The ports of Audierne, of Concarneau, Douarnenez, the Guilvinec, Saint-Guénolé Penmarc' H, Lesconil, Loctudy and Roscoff being among the first fresh fishing ports of the country, the tasting of the seafood and fish fresh are possible everywhere.
The nautical activities, of veil and sliding sports to the Point of the Torch, in Bay of the departeds, allow the training of the sea. Marinas exist all along the coasts and offer a shelter to the boats of passage and receptions permanent.
The center of the department presents some reliefs. In the Mounts of Arrée, the Mount Saint-Michel of Brasparts which dominates an imposing landscape of Tourbière S and Lande S, is the culminating point, while the Carry out-Hom in Plomodiern and Saint-NIC constitutes with its 330 measure close to the sea an incomparable watchtower. Another range of East-West hills, the black Mountains, extends in center-Is, in the South of Carhaix, capital of the area called the Poher.
The grid systems are developed, TGV and planes making it possible to go there, respectively with 4:30 and approximately 1:00 of Paris. Coastal ferries and boats of passengers with destinations of British Isles and islands (Batz, Islands Glénan, Molène, Ushant, Center) in several ports: Brest, Camaret-on-Sea, Concarneau, Conquet, Fouesnant, Roscoff.
Most of the coasts are managed by the Conservatoire littoral and the communes. The Regional natural park of Armorique undertakes to protect a rich and varied ecosystem.
Beaches sown throughout the coasts and a good hotel infrastructure and of restoration make it possible to pass in Finistere of pleasant holidays.
There exists a great site of France, the Pointe of the Strong current.
