Tour de France 1911
|} The ninth Tour de France is held of the July 2nd with the July 30th 1911 out of 15 stages for 5.344 km.
General information
- general classification is always done at the points and not at time.
- the departure of the Turn takes place to the Pont of the Bowl; the final arrival is judged with the Parc of the Princes. The course is not however the same one as the previous year with 600 km additional.
- Average of the winner: 27,322 km/h
- Certains runners use for the first time on the Lathe of the bicycles equipped with systems of shifting of speed.
- 37 runners are grouped in teams; 47 are insulated. On these 47 independent cyclists, eights will be on arrival. Best classified isolated is Jules Deloffre, fifteenth with the general in Paris.
- “Alcyon” gains the race with Garrigou, but finds an opposition of weight with the return of a team “the Frenchwoman” on the Grande Boucle. Paul Duboc, the leader of “the Frenchwoman”, finishes second in Paris by gaining four stages.
