Touggourt , of the Berber “the door” (in Tifinagh: ), is a town of Algérie of the Wilaya de Ouargla. The city is located in the the Algerian Sahara (it is a Oasis) at 620 km at the south-east of Algiers. It is more the big city of the area of Righ Wadi, which counts also the town of Me will rara, Djamaa, Mghaier and Temacine. The place is a shopping mall and tourist important of 70.645 inhabitants (1998).
The area was the seat of a founded sultanate in 1454, annexed by the French in 1854.
Touggourt, city known as of the Oil , division, with Hassi Messaoud, the head office of the Sonatrach, African first Undertaken Algerian and with a capital of 40 billion dollards (2005).
