Toucan is the vernacular name of 12 species (that is to say in all, 23 let us tax) of Oiseau X about the Piciformes and of the family of the Ramphastidés, close to the Araçari S and the Toucanet S which, in the language running, are also called “toucans”.

Etymology

The French name seems to be directly borrowed (1557) from the tupi “ tucana ” which would mean “osseous nozzle”.

Food

In its large nozzle, its long language enables him to catch and eat insects and fruits.

Reproduction

For the period of the loves, the toucan attracts the females by making a very noisy parade.
