Toru Iwatani

Toru Iwatani (born the January 25th 1955), celebrates originator of video games in the Années 1980 among the amateurs; he is the creator of the famous play of arcade CAP-Man .

Toru Iwatani was engaged by the Japanese editor Namco in 1977 to create video plays. In 1979, with the assistance of Hideyuki Mokajima and other collaborators of the Namco firm, he invents a play called “Puck-Man”. The play will be renamed CAP Man at the time of its export apart from the Japan, to prevent an English word game.

Iwatani continued its career of programmer of video games, without reaching the fame of its CAP-Man . Always employed at Namco in 2004, it will start in April 2005 a career of professor of design of virtual characters at the university of Arts of Ōsaka.
