Tortricidae

This family includes/understands microlépidoptères (in general less than one cm) whose caterpillars are phytophagous.
Their name comes owing to the fact that many their caterpillars are accustomed to rolling up or twisting, using wire from silk, the sheets of the plants of which they are nourished.
She gathers 755 kinds and 6.338 species.
For the man, number of them are to be classified among the ravageurs of the cultures.
This family was created by Pierre André Latreille (1762-1833) in 1803.
