Tortoise of the desert

The tortoise of the desert or Gophère d' Agassiz ( Gopherus agassizii ) is a species originating in the Désert of Mojaves and Désert of Sonora in the south-west of the the United States and the North-West of the Mexico. It can reach a weight of 4,7 kg at the adulthood. It digs shelters to be protected from the heat of the desert.
