Torteval (Guernesey)

Torteval ( Tortévas ( tortuous valley ) in Guernesiais) is a Paroisse of the island and Bailliage of Guernesey in the islands of the English Channel. Its name appears in the same form in English.

Geography

Parish located at the south-western end of the island of Guernesey, Torteval is smallest of the ten parishes. The territory of the parish is made today of two distinct parts separated by the parish from Saint-Pierre-of-Wood.

The east coast made of escarpées cliffs. In the North-West the small port of Portelet is.

The arrow of the church built in 1818 is highest of all those of the island and in fact a remarkable Amer.
