Toronto Star
The Toronto Star is a Canadian Quotidien published in the Ontarian city of Toronto. It with more large distribution of all the daily newspapers to the country, exceeding the 400.000 specimens per day (distributed almost entirely in Ontario). The newspaper puts the emphase on courverture of regional news of the great metropolitan region of Toronto. His/her company-mother, Torstar, have a great number of regional and Community newspapers, like Harlequin Enterprises Ltd, the largest publior of romantic novels in the world. Torstar currently seeks to buy 20% of Bell Globemedia, the owners of the Réseau CTV and The Globe and Mail .
The leading line of the Star is controlled by the principles of Atkinson . Joseph Atkinson, writer-in-chief of the newspaper of 1899 with 1948, had a strong social conscience and defended many causes associated with the modern welfare state: old-age pensions, the Social Security and universality of the health system. The principles which always guide the positions of the newspaper are:

The newspaper supported almost always the Liberal party of Canada at the federal level, and was the only daily newspaper of importance to do it in the Canadian federal election of 2006, almost the totality of the other famous daily newspapers having supported the Conservative party. In the Years 1980, the newspaper is opposed vigorously to the free trade with the United States. However, the standpoint of the newspaper surprennet sometimes: the Star is opposed to the war in Iraq and the policies of the US president George W. Bush, but preached the Canadian participation in the anti-missile project of shield. Recently, he denounced the political Rectitude in the Canadian universities and was opposed to the Représentation proportional to the elections.
