Toripolliisi

The Toripolliisi , Police of the place in French, is a statue located on the central place of Oulu in Finland. This statue at summer drawn up in homage to a rural policeman which of alive sound took care on the place of the market. Become an emblematic figure of the city, the inhabitants decided to pay this last homage after its death to him, raising the monument at the place where it was posted invariably.

The statue in Bronze, of dimensions 220×150×112 cm, was carried out by the sculptor Kaarlo Mikkonen in 1987 and became today one of the principal reference marks of the town of Oulu.
