Torii clan
The clan Torii (鳥居氏, - shi ) was a family of Samuraï S of the Period Sengoku and Period Edo. The Torii clan was vassal Tokugawa. At the 16th century, the members of the Torii clan were recognized for their bravery, mainly thanks to Sune' emon Torii which was crucifié by Nobunaga Oda with the battle of Nagashino.
The family had the stronghold of Yahagi (40 000 Koku ) in the Province of Shimosa in 1590. But after the establishment of the shogunat of Tokugawa, in 1606, the clan was rewarded for his honesty and inherited the han Iwakidaira in the Province Mutsu, of 100.000 koku . In 1622, the clan moved towards the Province of Dewa after having obtained there the han of Yamagata, of 260.000 koku . Tadatsune Torii died in 1636 without hértier and the totality of the grounds of the clan returned to the shogunat. The brother of Tadatsune, Tadaharu Torii obtained a stronghold of 30.000 koku in the Province of Shinano.
