Torgny
Torgny is a section of the common Belgian of Rouvroy located in Walloon region in the Province of Luxembourg.
It was a commune with whole share before the fusion of the communes of 1977.
Torgny is the southernmost village (49°30N) of Belgium.
It is also the Belgian locality furthest away from the federal capital.

With height of Torgny, it is the Chiers which materialize the border between the Belgium and the France. With torgny, Chiers is regarded as the oldest border of the kingdom of France. Because it is in 1659, by treaty of the Pyrenees, which fixed until our days the border
Torgny is famous for its exceptionally hot and dry microclimate.
The culture of the vine decreased at the 19th century, in 1828, one counted 28 more pieces of vines with Torgny. The produced wine was compared to the wine of the coasts of Meuses Frenchwoman. It had to be drunk in the year. The vine replanted in 1954. The current production is moreover 6000 bottles of white dry wine of makes the most known first and of the Belgian vineyards.
Torgny belongs to association gathering the most beautiful villages of Wallonia since 1996.
The Lassus Court is the place where the cradle of the village is located. Old strong house, it would have belonged to Pierre of bar lord of Forging mills. In 1301, Pierre de Bar accompanied by the count de Luxembourg frees Torgny with the Law from Beaumont. In 1302, Pierre de Bar sells the stronghold of the Court lassus and Crouée to Jean of Luxembourg. The Lassus Court will bear from now on the name of Court of Bohemia because the count of Luxembourg is also king de Bohême.
