Torches of Payerne
The Brandons of Payerne is the name of the Carnaval of Payerne, usually being held during February. The torches are ignited torches of straw used for lighting or to light a fire, judicious to mark the end of the winter.
The torches of Payerne are organized by the committee of masked (or CDM).
Program Torches
The festivities begin Friday at the evening, to be completed Monday evening.

- Procession of the children: the children of the schools of the city ravel with their disguises.

The newspaper of the Torches
Each year is published a newspaper, which appears officially saturdays of the weekend of the Torches. Satirist and homorisitque, it tells inter alia through of Payernois during the past year. Each year, the title of the newspaper changes. The first known publications go up with 1895.
