Torbay is a bay located in the county of Devon exposed to the east, at the western end of the Lyme Bay. Torbay is between the towns of Exeter and Plymouth, in the south-west of the England. Torbay separated from Devon on April 1st 1998, and enjoys a form of autonomy (it is a " unitary authority"). Torbay as administrative district was created in 1968, being worthy the name of a County borough, after the amalgamation of the 3 Borough S of Torquay (in the north of bay), Paignton (in the center) and Brixham (in the south), which is the principal cities of Torbay now.

The northern end of bay is called Hopes Nose ( Nez of the Hopes in English), and the south Berry Head ( Tête of bay ). One finds in Torbay of beautiful the Plage S with Oddicombe and Babbacombe, those are the reasons which Torbay is a destination populaired are British tourists. It is called besides Riviera English by the tourist authorities.

In spite of the English climate, one finds " Palm trees " on the side of Torbay, in particular of the Yucca S.
