Topological mirage
In Cosmology, a topological mirage is hypothetical a Mirage, which would be due to the Topologie of the Universe. More precisely, this effect would be related on the structure and topological connections of this one.
This mirage would give the impression to us that the universe is vaster than it is it actually by gearing down the light sources “” which comes to us from the cosmos: a little as a part papered mirrors reflects its own contents infinitely.
Origin of the theory

This assumption was popularized by the Cosmologue French Jean-Pierre Luminet within the framework of the assumption of a universe multiconnexe (or “Universe crumpled” according to the terminology employed by J. - P. Luminet). The examination of the data relating to the anisotropies of the cosmological diffuse Fond coming from the satellite WMAP tends to confirm this theory. The Satellite Planck which will be launched in 2008 should bring further information on the subject.
Origin of the illusion

To exist, the topological mirage needs for a finished universe, but without Bord. To visualize such a space let us imagine a Surface to two dimensions, that of a Tore: The surface of a torus is indeed finished, on the other hand one cannot find to him of edge.
Let us recall that the General relativity stipulates that the luminous rays moves according to the Géodésique S - the “straight lines” - space. Thus in a space similar to the Surface of a torus, the luminous rays unrelentingly will return to their starting point. By doing this, an observant placed inside this space will see him even in multiple specimens since its own image will always finish by him returning and this, can imports the direction in which it looks at. The illusion of an infinite repetition of Motif will be thus apparent for him, one will then speak about a topological Mirage .
