Courtney Love , of her true name Courtney Michelle Harrison , (born the July 9th 1964 with San Francisco) is a Musicienne, Chanteuse and American Actrice .

Biography

Child of parents Hippie S, it will find his vocation of very young artist. It is singer, guitarist, actress and widow of the leader of the group Nirvana, Kurt Cobain (1967 - 1994) with which it had a girl, Frances Bean Cobain.

Courtney takes down its first role (the best friend of Nancy Spungen) in the film Sid and Nancy , realized by Alex Cox and left in 1986. The following year, she plays the part of Velma in Straight to Hell, at the side of Joe Strummer. She also makes short appearances in television series like Quincy.

With the beginning of the year 1980, Courtney Love makes a short appearance in the group Faith No More. In 1981, it founds the group Sugar Babylon with her two better friends, Ursula Wehr and Robin Barbur. It created the groups Sugar then Baby Fraud (with Jennifer Finch of L7 and Kat Bjelland of Babes in Toyland) and Pagan Babies (with Kat Bjelland, Janis Tanaka and Deidre Schletter).

Hole is created finally in 1989, with Caroline Rue with the battery, Jill Emery with low and Eric Erlandson with the guitar. Their first album Pretty One The Inside produces by Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth leaves two years later. It will be well accommodated by criticism.

Courtney marries Kurt Cobain, the singer of the group Nirvana, the February 24th 1992 with Hawaii. Their daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, is born on August 18th from the same year.

The second album of the group, Live Through This , leaves a few days after the death her husband in April 94. Certified platinum disc in 1995, he was also elected disc of the year by Rolling Stone, Spin and Village Voice. A posthumous recognition for Kurt Cobain, who would have written major the part of the songs of the album.

Courtney connects then some roles with the cinema (Basquiat, Feeling Minnesota) but is really pointed out thanks to its role in Larry Flynt of Milos Forman. Coil incarnates there the role of the woman of Flynt, Althea, at the side of Woody Harrelson and Edward Norton. She was named with the Golden Globes for her service.

The third and last album of Hole, Celebrity Skin , leaves in 1998. Billy Corgan took part in arrangements of five titles.

When Courtney lived with the Japan, it was impassioned for the Manga. She Co-created a series, Princess Have, whose characters are drawn by Have Yazawa and the dialogs of heroin extracts from the words of songs of Courtney. In 2004, it returns without its group, with a first album solo America' S Sweetheart , which did not draw the attention of the general public. Indeed, in spite of songs of quality, Courtney recognized that the production was not with the height.

At the beginning of 2006, surrounded by Linda Perry and Billy Corgan, Courtney begins the recording from its new album. Michael Stipe, Alan McGee, Bono, Cameron Crowe, Bennett Miller, Edward Norton and Moby on the occasion to listen to the demonstrations of the album. On this subject, this last declared: “ Its new songs are very well written, very impassioned. I am convinced that its new album will be brilliant ”.

Realized by Will Yapp, The Return off Courtney Love is documentary on the recording of the new album. It was diffused the September 27th 2006 on the More4 chain, then on VH1.

In October 2006 left Dirty Blonde: The Diaries off Courtney Love , an autobiographical work containing of the words of songs, the poems, the letters, the notes and the photographs the new ones.

Last August, Courtney was photographed by Hedi Slimane with New York. These stereotypes were the subject of a book left in April 2007, Courtney Love by Hedi Silmane: Portrait off has Performer .

The new album, entitled Nobody' S Daughter , is awaited for January 2008.
