Castles

The commune comprises two castles (or house-strong) and the ruins of a third:

ruins of the Castle of Montgilbert (13th century)
the castle of Caps (13th or 15th century)
the castle in the borough (13th - 19th century)

Glozel

Glozel is the name of a locality of the commune where at the day starting from 1924 was put a whole of objects allotted initially to a prehistoric time but whose authenticity was quickly disputed. Certain objects discovered carry inscriptions evoking a writing in a Alphabet near to the alphabets phenician or Iberian. These vestiges are at the origin of a sharp controversy which divided the scientific community, then the general public, in " glozéliens" and " anti-glozéliens".

After new analyzes and datings, the Ministère of the Culture made public in 1995 a report/ratio whose authors think that the site is medieval, that it undoubtedly contains some objects of the Âge of iron, but which it was probably enriched by counterfeits whose author remains unknown.

Rigond horse

This hamlet was a commune independent of Tool bags. There exist several names: Chevalrigon, Chevalriogon, Horse regond, etc One finds, on his territory, a vault dated from 13th.
