Tony Shalhoub

Tony Shalhoub (October 9th 1953 with Green Bay, Wisconsin -), is an American actor of Lebanese origin . He is currently the main actor and the executive producer of the Televised series Monk in which he plays the part of a suffering private detective of obsessional turbid low registers compulsifs with the research of the assassin of his wife and his rehabilitation as a police inspector. He gained a Emmy Award as a better actor of televised series in 2003 and 2005 for this role, as well as a Golden Globe Award in 2003 and two Screen Actors Guild in 2004 and 2005.

One of its first roles of television was Antonio in Wings , which also puts in the high-speed motorboat Tim Daly, Steven Weber, Crystal Bernard, the nominated one with the Oscars Thomas Haden Church and Rebecca Schull. This role was in fact the first casting of Tony at the time of his arrival with Los Angeles.

Tony Shalhoub is married with the actress Brooke Adams and is the brother-in-law of the former actress Lynne Adams.

The Shalhoub family is originating in the Lebanon and the West of the United States. Tony was born and grew with Green Bay in Wisconsin. His/her father emigrated of Lebanon in the United States as a Orphelin at the ten years age. He married the mother of Tony Shalhoub, Libano-American of second generation, and founded a family company, a grocer in the center of Green Bay. Tony received a diploma of dramatic art of the Université of Southern Maine to Gorham, and obtained a control of the school of dramatic art of Yale in 1980. A little later he moved with Cambridge in the Massachusetts where he spent four seasons with the troop of the American Repertory Theater before moving towards New York where he took down spontaneous roles before joining the company of the theater of Broadway. Its role in Conversations With My Father was worth to him a nomination for the Tony Award S and met his future wife during an other production.

Tony Shalhoub has a house in Cambridge.
