Tony Sbarbaro

Antonio Sbarbaro, known as Tony Sbarbaro or Tony Spargo , is a Batteur and player of Kazoo of American Jazz , born the June 27th 1897 with the Orleans News and dead the October 3rd 1963 with Forest Hill (New York).

Tony Sbarbaro or Spargo (it occurred under these two names) has his place in the history of the jazz to have been beater of the Original Dixieland Jazz Band, first group of jazz to have recorded a disc in 1917. After the dissolution of the ODJB in 1925, it directed its own orchestra to New York. One also could hear it at the side of Phil Napoleon, Miff Mole, Pee Wee Ervin, Eddie Condon and other formations of Dixieland.
