Tonight\' S the Night
Tonight' S The Night is the 6th album studio and solo of Neil Young.
In 1974 Neil Young is traumatisé: After successes of " Harvest " and of " After the Gold Rush " , it has just finished an exhausting round ( Time Fades Away ), Danny Whitten, of the Crazy Horse and the Roadie Bruce Berry of its team died brutally. Under the influence of alcohol and drugs it is expressed by this very black album, in particular on the two songs éponymes. The recording company does not want to publish it not to break its image near the fans. It will leave in the place One The Beach : however hardly merrier. Tonight' S The Night will leave two years later. In spite of beautiful ballades (" Albuquerque " or " World One has String ") this disc is far from being commercial and perhaps regarded today as being part of the albums founders of the movement Punk and the alternative Rock.
The title " Like One Baby Let' S Go Downtown " is a public recording in Fillmore East of 1970 with Danny Whitten with the song.
In 2003, the album is classified with the 331e row by Rolling Stone magazine among the 500 best albums of all times.

Quotation
- “ This Album was conceived for Danny Whitten and Bruce Berry which lived and which died for the Rock'n'roll “Roll ” Neil Young (small pocket of the disc).
- “ It is one of the most lugubrious discs of rock'n'roll of all times. Drugs and death are the principal subjects. You speak there about Danny Whitten and Bruce Berry .
- Bruce was roadie for CSN&Y, it dealt with the guitars of Steven Stills. It was really a very cool guy, always there in the good moments. And then, of only one blow, it became another guy. He started to sell the guitars of his buddies. And there, we included/understood all. The guitars disappeared, it told conneries… Then he died. ”
