Anton Engelbert Toni Sailer , born the November 17th 1935 with Kitzbühel, is a alpine skier Austrian and a movie actor.

Biography

Member of Kitzbüheler Ski Club and called Blitz from Kitz (in French Flash of Kitz ), Sailer was the first alpine skier to carry out the triplet with the Winter Olympics “descent - giant slalom - slalom” at the time of the Olympic Games of 1956 with Cortina d' Ampezzo in Italy and the fifth sportsman to gain three gold medals at the court of the same Winter Olympics. He also gained compound but this last discipline was not recognized like Olympic title and counted only for the championships of the world.

Two years later, at the time of the championships of the world to Bad Gastein in Austria, it gained three new championships of the world (descent, giant slalom and compound) and a money medal in slalom before being withdrawn in 1959 to devote itself entirely to the Cinéma (started in 1957).

From 1957 to 1971, it turned in many films where it showed its talent.

As from 1972, he became chief technical officer of association autrichenne of ski ( ÖSV ).

For its contribution to the Olympic movement, the International Olympic committee rewarded it for the Olympic order in 1985.

In January 2004, although it does not have engagement in a political party, it announced to want to present to the town hall Kitzbühel but a few weeks later, realizing that to be a mayor is a work of full-time, it preferred to give up.
