The Tongva are Amerindian people which lived the area of Los Angeles and his neighborhoods, in California, before the arrival of the European . Tongva means " populate terre" in their language, which belongs to the Uto-Aztecan Langues. Tongva are also sometimes called Gabrielo/Tongva, because they were called Gabrieleño, Gabrielino, or San Gabrieleño in reference to the Spanish mission of San Gabriel Arcangel.
