Tongmenghui

The Tongmenghui (in Chinese: 同盟會/同盟会, Pinyin: tóngménghuì , literally “company of plain honesty”), so known under the name of plain League or of revolutionary Alliance was a Secret society and a clandestine resistance movement created by Sun Yat-SEN and Song Jiaoren with Tōkyō, with the Japan, the August 20th 1905.

This new organization was the result of the fusion of the Xingzhonghui (literally “company for the rectification of the China”) of Sun, of the Guangfuhui (“company of restoration”) and other revolutionary groups Chinese.

Combining republican objectives , nationalist and socialist, the political platform of Tongmenghui aimed at “reversing the barbarians Mandchous, to return the China to the Chinese, to establish a République and to redistribute the grounds with equality. ”

Wang Jingwei was one of the members of the Alliance, which later became the Head of the phantom State created by the Japan board in China during the Second world war.

In 1906, a section was established with Singapore following a visit of Sun. This section which was called the section of Nanyang was used as a basis for the organization in Southeast Asia.

After the establishment of the République of China, Tongmenghui formed, in August 1912, the core of the new party of Sun, the Guomindang, which can result in the “nationalist party”.
