Tondero

The Tondero is a Danse of Peruvian origin . The areas of which it comes are Piura and Lambayeque, and more particularly Morropon . Its traditional version consists of: a principal singer, a small chorus, two guitarists, popular the " Cajón peruano" (used today in the revolutionary jazz, the Latin Music and new the Flamenco) and a player of spoons. The music is accompanied with the palms of the hand and sometimes, if there are no others " cajón" available, one uses an instrument made containing flattened and dried water-bottle, typical of the north of Peru called " checo". Its origin is probably gipsy. Indeed, from many people came to seek the famous pearls of Piura, their descendants are called besides Piajenos . Piajenos are wandering people which saw resources of the craft industry. The handkerchief is used in the dance and the steps of dance illustrate cockfights, heritage of the Flamenco.
