Tomo Vereš (born the February 24th 1930 with Subotica and deceased the December 9th 2002 with Zagreb) is a monk, Philosophe and Croatian Théologien .
Biography
In 1949, it enters the Ordre of the Preachers. It begins its studies with the provincial studium of Dubrovnik (Croatia), then continues them and completes by a license with the general studium of the Saulchoir in France, in 1958.In 1956, it is ordered priest in Saulchoir. Returned in its province in 1958, it teaches during seven years with studium in Dubrovnik. Then it continues its studies in Philosophie at the university of Freiburg-in-Brisgau and the Faculty of theology of Zagreb, where it supports its thesis of doctorate in 1970 ( the Thought and the praxis at Karl Marx. A tentative a philosophico-theological dialog with the work of Marx ).
As of 1974, it teaches with the Faculty of philosophy of the Fathers Jesuits in Zagreb the introduction to philosophy, the philosophy of Karl Marx and Thomas d' Aquin, and takes part in several international congresses; he also writes in Hungarian, French and German (certain articles are translated into English, Spanish, Italian and Slovenien). Moreover, he is president of the Secretariat for the unbelievers of the Episcopal conference of Yugoslavia of 1976 with 1985. In the year 2000, the control in crowned theology is conferred to him.
The writings of the Vereš Father show his vast field of work: the best Croatian expert of the doctrines of Albert Large the, Thomas d' Aquin and Jacques Maritain enters in dialog with the Marxist , study the social doctrines of the Church by making known it with many people, is interested in the questions of the national minorities. He pays an great attention to the events of his time.
He carries the title of the first craftsman of the dialog argued with the Marxists. However, the general chapter of the Order, held with Calaruega in 1958, ordered that in all the studia of the Order, within the framework of ethics, there is a teaching of sociology, as well as the study and the criticism of the errors of the Marxism. To its return of Saulchoir, this load was entrusted to the Vereš Father who, since 1958, started to study Marx and the Marxism. As a teacher with studium in Dubrovnik, already in 1960, it published a duplicated scriptum on the Philosophie of Karl Marx (in 1960 it prepared the 2nd edition), which was diffused clandestinely in old the Yugoslavia.
Wanting " prolonger" its Master Thomas d' Aquin, it entered in dialog with the work of Karl Marx, thus for example in his book Filozofsko-teološki dijalog S Marxom (the philosophico-theological dialog with Marx), which knew two editions. He always keeps in mind the dialog specific to the Croatian medium of Yugoslavia, without simply wanting to apply known universal diagrams in Europe and in the world.
