Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa
Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa (born the July 23rd 1940 with Bellune, in Venezia -) is an Italian economist, become Minister for Finance of the Gouvernement Romano Prodi II the May 17th 2006, after having been member of the directory of the European Central bank.
Biography
Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa is graduate university Luigi Bocconi of Milan in 1966 and obtains off a Mastère Economic scene of the Massachusetts Institute Technology (MIT) in 1970.
It was to advise Institut for the international Businesses (Rome). Previously, it also was, inter alia functions, managing director for the Economy and the financial Businesses of the Commission of the European Communities (1979-1983), executive vice president of the Banque of Italy (1984-1997) and chair Commissione Nazionale per Società E Borsa (1997-1998). It was appointed honorary professor in economy with the Université Johann Wolfgang Goethe of Francfort-sur-le-Main.
The October 3rd 2007, Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa, was elected president of the management committee of the Fonds international currency (the IMF), to replace old the British Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown, become Prime Minister.
Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa is in addition president of the Think tank Our Europe .
