Tomb Raider II

Tomb Raider II (or Tomb Raider II: the Scraping-knife of Xian ) is a video game of adventure left in 1997. It belongs to the series Tomb Raider.

Presentation

The play takes again mainly the gameplay first episode, and adds certain innovations, like the possibility of directing various vehicles as well as the possibility of safeguarding constantly.

Scenario

Lara Croft set out again in the search of another artefact: the Scraping-knife of Xian , which confers on that which finds courage to plant it in its heart the capacity of the dragon.

In ancestral China, an emperor with the bad intentions had adapted the capacity of this scraping-knife, and tried to make reign chaos in the country. He reveals to him the existence of a chief of the Maffia Italian, Marco Bartoli, him also with the research of the object, and warns it on the danger of this temple.

It thus decides to leave for the Italy, with Venice to find this famous Bartoli. Arrived in its hiding place, it realizes that it is already on the way, the prosecutor until in an opera and on the footbridge of a Hydravion, in which it goes up clandestinely.

On its board, Bartoli and one of its henchmen, discuss their research. But Lara is struck by a henchman, and is found disarmed in an oil platform on the Adriatique. It joined the temple and arrives in a room where the scraping-knife is exposed, whereas it wants to seize some, a trap door opens and it falls until the fine bottom from the temple. It will have to thus avoid many traps, but when it returns in the room, it is already too late: Bartoli is proceeding to a ritual, and plants the scraping-knife in the heart. The men of Bartoli takes along his inanimate body in the islands of the sky, far from suspecting the presence of Croft Miss. This one ends up facing the henchmen and the eternal guards of the scraping-knife to find itself finally in the cave of the dragon.

Here, Lara finds the body lying of Bartoli on a furnace bridge. This one is transformed then into a gigantic dragon, and tries to kill Lara, which manages to find the fault: it withdraws the scraping-knife of the heart to him and this one crumbles and putrefies.

Lastly, it sets out again as quickly as it can to avoid also remaining it for eternity in this temple which crumbles.

Once returned at it in its immense manor in England, it will have to face in an ultimate combat the last men of Bartoli come to avenge their chief and to recover the Scraping-knife.

Characters

  • Lara Croft
  • Winston : Famous and faithful host of Lara, it holds and deals with the manor in his absence.
  • Marco Bartoli : Powerful chief of Maffia Italian operating with Venice, he is the direct enemy Croft Miss. Movements and interactions

Lara takes again the same movements of the first opus. From now on the possibility is added of going up and of going down from the scales and other walls escaladables. It can also jump and be turned over in the air and make a roulade under water. It can from now on use tyroliennes.

The interactions are more numerous and Lara can turn of the valves and actuate switchs. The water levels can from now on have several level of depth, Lara will not swim more forcing while crossing certain basin, its mobility will be seen simply reduced.
