Tomahawk is a Supergroupe of heavy metal/alternative Rock American.

Biography

It was formed in 2000 by the singer Mike Patton (Fantômas, ex- Faith No More, ex- Mr. Bungle) and the guitarist Duane Denison (ex- Jesus Lizard). Duane then recruited the old beater of Helmet, Jon Stanier (which currently plays in the group Battles), while Mike engaged Kevin Rutmanis Melvins and of The Cows.

Their first album, heading Tomahawk , left in 2001, produced by Joe Funderburk. Their second album, MIT Gas , as for him arrived in 2003. All two are appeared at the label Ipecac Recordings.

Tomahawk gave many concerts in the world, with the the United States, in Europe, Australia and with the Japan. Even if they were most of the time the principal group in these concerts, they also played in first part of groups like Tool. They took part in Ipecac Geek Tour in company of Fantomas and Melvins, like with the " Big Day Out Festival " in Australia.

A third album, baptized Anonymous left on June 19th 2007. It draws its inspiration in the culture Amerindian and does not contain inter alia resumptions of Indian traditional songs.
