Tom Harkin
Thomas Richard Harkin (born in 1939) is an American politician, member of the Democratic party and senator of the Iowa to the Congrès of the United States.
Harkin was born the November 19th 1939 in Cumming, Iowa, of a minor father and a Slovenien mother , died whereas it is only ten years old.
Harkin is graduate university of State of Iowa in 1962 and graduate in right of the catholic university of America in 1972.
It is used in the US Navy of 1962 for 1967.
In 1970, assisting of the congressman Neal Smith, Harkin goes in the République of Vietnam within a delegation of the Congress. On its return, it publishes photographs denouncing the inhuman treatment of the prisoners of war.
Of 1974 with 1984, he is a democratic elected official of Iowa to the Chambre of the Representatives of the United States (re-elected in 1976, 1978, 1980 and 1982).
In 1984, Harkin is elected with the Sénat of the United States where he will be re-elected in 1990, 1996 and 2002.
In 1992, it is presented to the democratic primary educations for the presidential election. It gains the primary educations of Iowa but will be finally beaten by Bill Clinton.
Liberal democrat and defender of the consumers, Harkin is a burning defender of the State of Israel of which it defends the allouement annual one of appropriations allocated with the title of the military aid. He is member also committee of political action pro-Israeli.
He supported the legalization of the IVG, which is discussed because that can cause the car-excommunication of the Catholic church.
