Tom Ford
Tom Ford is an American dressmaker born in 1961 with Austin (Texas), with the the United States. In 1998 at the time of the repurchase of the designers house Yves SAINT LAURENT by Gucci (group Pinault-Spring-Redoute or PR) it is chosen by the group to succeed Yves Saint Laurent.
Tom Ford did not intend himself to work in the fashion, it planned to be an actor then interior designer. He enters finally to Gucci like designer in 1990. When the house is repurchased by the Investcorp firm, it is promoted artistic director. He then affirms his style through very appreciated models, giving to the last style the models of the Fifties, small high out of satin with famous smoking crimson and thus contributes to give again glare at Gucci, near to the bankruptcy when he had joined it. Madonna, Bianca Jagger or Gwyneth Paltrow is posted as a Tom Ford what obviously revival the Gucci mark and lance défininitivement the dressmaker. When the French designers house Yves Saint Laurent is repurchased by François Pinault via Gucci, it agrees to become about it also the artistic director. In 2000, he is elected better designer. He leaves Gucci in 2004 and joined finally the house Estée Lauder, for which he directs the creation of a new line of beauty products. Recently, Tom Ford with his own line of clothing, and with the same open first department store to New York.
