Toluene Diisocyanate
The diisocyanate of toluene (TDI: Toluene diisocyanate ) is a Composé organics pertaining to the group of the Isocyanate S. It is one of starting the Monomère S used for the production of Polyuréthane by Polymérisation.
The TDI is produced industrially while making react diaminotoluene (makes of it a mixture of 2,4-diaminotoluene and 2,6-diaminotoluene in a ratio 80:20) with Phosgène (COCl2), which leads to the TDI with a secondary production of Chlorure of hydrogen HCl.
The TDI can react with a alcohol what makes it possible to form a structure urethan. It is a toxic compound and reagent, which it is advisable to handle with precautions. Any direct exposure to the TDI or its vapors must be avoided.
