, more known under name or TEPCO , is a multinational of Japanese origin and the largest world private producer of electricity. The company exploits mainly thermo plants and 3 nuclear plants (17 engines). In addition, it has of hydroelectric stations, wind farms and a geothermal power station.

Production capacity

The company can produce 64.3mKW electricity, including 30% coming from its 3 power stations. It provides approximately 28 million customers to Tokyo and the neighborhoods.

History

The Tepco company was founded in 1951, succeeding the Tokyo Electric Light Company whose foundation goes back to 1883.

In April 2003, the Japanese government ordered in Tepco to close all its nuclear reactors for a security check after falsified documents were discovered.
