Tokyo DisneySea

Tokyo DisneySea () is the second park with open topic the September 4th 2001 within the Tokyo Disney Resort. Located at the south of Tokyo Disneyland, one can join the park by borrowing the Disney Resort Line. The park

The park consists of seven " ports" (and not " pays" as in the Magic Kingdoms ). They are distributed around and on a central volcanic island. Mysterious Island is girdled by the river used by the boats of Disney Transit Steamer Line , a transport system. Only will caldeira it which is at the same time in the middle of the volcano of the island and a section of the river moderates this fact.

Mediterranean Harbor

It is the entry of the park, located under the hotel Disney' S Hotel Miracosta. The entry is designed like an Italian city of the Renaissance in seaside. The shops and restaurants occupy the ground floor of the hotel. The buildings are of color pastel with tons red, oranges, yellows, blue, white and even greens. Many decorations or ornaments decorate the walls like trompe-l'oeil, stuccos, balconies (true and false) or statues.

The country consists of part of the place of entry of the park and by two interior wings of the hotel along the lagoon facing the volcano of Mysterious Island. This part is called Oporto Paradisio . The lagoon makes it possible to present watery spectacles and to draw from fires of artifices. The " parade" park is thus a succession of ships like a carnival, named Oporto Paradisio Water Carnival . The night spectacle is called BraviSEAmo and began during the summer 2005.

A little further behind the left wing the building the Palazzo Canal is used at the same time of attraction and calm place for the hotel and its swimming pool.

Four carriages gourmants are laid out at the strategic places of the port, named respectively: Picollo Mercato , Miramare , Splendido , and Regalini .

Passage Miracosta and Via World

Passage Miracosta is the street name separating the two wings from the hotel and making it possible to the visitors to enter the park. On each side of this passage, shops accommodate the visitors who have just crossed the great place of DisneySea Plaza with his fountain representing the planet Ground.

On the right, the Emporio is an enormous shop on all the Disney universe like his/her cousin Emporium in Tokyo Disneyland (and others Magic Royaumes ).

On the left, Disney Galleria is another large shop, rather near to the Emporio (of share size and its articles) but proposing Disney articles related to the marine worlds in a decoration close to Mermaid Lagoon.

Via Modiale is the name of the " rue" virtual separating the buildings from the Passage Miracosta of the DisneySea Plaza . Two shops are in this street because they are located in the prolongation of the two large shops of the Passage Miracosta :

In a dissociated building of the hotel, the restaurant Zambini Brothers' Ristorante proposes pizza pies and pastes in the decoration of an old cellar with wine. Plaza Topolino Southern

With the angle of the building, the coffee Gondolier Snacks proposes ices, coolings and hot drinks to be tasted either at the edge of the lake, or along the Palazzo Canal. (120 places, outside only) .

Just behind, the Da Vinci' S Travel Photographs makes it possible to be made photograph in decorations (encrusted by computer) of the Italy Renaissance, but also to buy postcards.

Oporto Paradisio (the lake)

The fortress

American Waterfront

It is an evocation of the large American ports at the beginning of the 20th century. The two zones are separated by a river, the prolongation of the lagoon of Mediterranean Harbor, which continues then while turning towards the back of the volcano by arranging a handle for the fishing port of Cape Cod.

The first, shared with Mediterranean Harbor, accommodates Italian houses and the ways of an elevated railway. New York

Since Mediterranean Harbor the first sight is a prosperous cosmopolitan city. A street is inserted in the city while an other skirts the lake and its embarcadères.
An elevated railway, DisneySea Electric Railway , crosses the streets of this evocation of an American big city of the beginning of the 20th century, New York.

The place which accommodates the visitors at the entry of this " portuaire" city; is decorated of a statue in the honor of Christophe Colomb.

the DisneySea Electric Railway is a tram used like elevated railway. It is perched on a wrought iron way painted in green (like the Parisian works art déco). The trains are composed of two coaches of red and blue color. It makes it possible to join the station of Port Discovery located on the other side of the volcano of Mysterious Island.

In the south of the place Tower off Terror , a very high building on the line, on the other side of the park. It is an update of the homonymous attraction of Disneyland, closed since 2001. Here the entry is done while descending a large spiral with in the center, an elevator operating system. A Bathyscaphe of the name of Neptune even remained suspended at side. Inside attraction, the visitors embark in submarines (of 6 places). Through the panes, they can admire splendors of the ocean (a clever system makes it possible to make accept a total immersion .)

- on left Port Discovery on the level of the station of DisneySea Electric Railway .

Discovery port

It is the futuristic part of the park located on the left behind the volcano. The decoration resembles the Discoveryland of Disneyland Paris, with its gilded buildings, out of bronze and green (oxidized copper). But here it is a port and water is omnipresent.

This country comprises two attractions seeming to be perched on bridge with the top of water and connected by bridges. The general topic of the " port" weather Control center is the (Center for Weather Control).

StormRider is a dynamic cinema, of simulator type of vol. It is the last version of the system used for Star Turns.

Behind StormRider a way makes it possible to join Lost River Delta.

Lost To rivet Delta
It is the evocation of the jungles of Central America (and nonAsian as with Adventureland). The river skirting the two parts of this " port" be called the Lost Rivière ( Lost River or El Rio Perdido ). A seaplane is even still posed above (That of Indiana Jones?). General architecture is that of the camps of explorers in the jungle, wood sheet fact and other materials of recovery. the large INCA temple in ruin is the entry of attraction Indiana Jones Adventure: The Temple off the Hook Skull . You must face Crystal Cranium which protects the way to the Fountain of Youth. But Indiana Jones has you already " balisé" the way for your jeep.

the Yucatan Base Camp Grill is a restaurant built with the foot of the INCA temple under a roof of fabric. He proposes grills in a decoration evoking a building site of archaeological excavation. (620 places, interior and outside) .

Arabian Coast
It is the Arab world with Aladdin which is with the honor in this section on the right behind the volcano. The " port" divides itself mainly in two Eastern palates separated by a small common zone skirted by the Rivière Lost and made up from lanes and an interior court, the market of Agrabah. Fountains and staircases, giving access the stages and gangways of the walls, create many places of relaxation.
The first palate, that of Agrabah, are built out of stone mainly white. attraction Sindbad' S Storybook Voyage (ex- Sinbad Seven' S Voyages ) takes seat inside. It is a cruising in the countries visited by Sinbad represented by decorations and headstocks. It is more simply a version of It' S.A. Small World on the topic of the voyages of Simbad.

Mermaid Lagoon
Located just behind the volcano, it is the world of the small siren Ariel. It is to some extent, the Mickey' S Toontown of the park with in a more little has Bug' S Land. This port consists of several attractions inside a large cave " under-marine" name of Triton' S Kingdom and two others outside.

Flounder' S Flying Fish Coaster is a Russian mini-mountain with cars in the yellow fish shape (Flounder is the English name of Polochon ) .

Scuttle' S Scooters is a horse-gear directed by the removed from rim gull of film.

Triton' S Kingdom is a great covered zone with several attractions, shops and a restaurant. The entry is done by the palate of Triton, the father of Ariel. After the rotunda with Triton on his tank drawn by dolphins, one penetrates in the cave. It is rather dark but the multi-coloured fish, algae and corals give him a marvellous underwater basic aspect. Three horse-gears are disseminated in the center of the room, while the remainder is accessible in " ouvertures" wall.

The Whirlpool is a variation of the cups. At the entry two dolphins accommodate the visitors.

Jumpin' Jellyfish is a horse-gear with the hollow of a giant conch, in which jellyfishes climb with your own way while turning.

Blowfish Balloon Race is a horse-gear on board shells carried by fish-spheres.

At the bottom of the part, the watchtower of a boat of pirates is the entry of the Mermaid Lagoon Theater of 700 places. He proposes a semi-watery spectacle entitled " Under the Sea".

Sebastian' S Calypso Kitchen is a pizzeria. (580 places, interior only) .

Mermaid Treasures is a shop of jewels, accessories and diaries

KIS of girl Fashions is a " shop for the princesses" (which awaits the kiss of the prince charming). She proposes clothing and accessories.

Located on the right entry, Ariel' S Playground is a zone of plays telling the history of Ariel. It is cut out in several rooms. On the left four rooms

are of which the wreck of the sharks and the Cave of the wonders of Ariel with the statue of Prince Eric. On the line, three other rooms recall the palate and its ostentation. Between the two, a lugubrious corridor with murenes carved pleasing with the reference mark of Ursula. The exit of the cave is done between the shops and the zone of plays.

Neighborhoods of the park

Several " ports" park have a sight on bay of Tokyo in which the park is built. Moreover Disney built a majestic entry for this park, the DisneySea Plaza.

DisneySea Plaza

DisneySea Plaza is the name of the immense place located between the structure of the carpark and the hotel Disney' S Hotel Miracosta. This place is circular with a ground of blue color. In the center of the place, a fountain furnished with a géosphère represents the Ground. It forms already part of the park and the Via Mondiale is to him tangeante with the foot of the hotel.
In the south of the place one of the stations of the monorail of the Disney Resort Line is.
Around the place behind the counters of the park, the remainder of space is of color ocher. One of the counters is surmounted by a passage for the residents of the hotel enabling them to join the station of monorail. Decorated spaces of trees make it possible to the future visitors to await their tickets without hustling itself.

Slides

The slides of the park are almost non-existent since they are divided between the two parks placed almost back with back.
There exists however an important zone of slides between the Plaza Topolino Norte of Mediterranean Harbor and Arabian Coast being used with storage and repair of the boats of which those of the parades.
This zone gives access the center of Mysterious Island by a completely invisible bridge for the visitors and passing between will caldeira volcano and the Triton' S Kindgom.
For information, the hydraulic systems of the park do not communicate with bay of Tokyo. Only a system of overflow makes it possible to partly empty the lagoon and the river. It is located opposite StormRider in Port Discovery.

Comments

The park of Tokyo DisneySea includes/understands like his/her brother Tokyo Disneyland of many theaters. One can count more than one half-dozen of theaters (covered or not) whereas Disneyland Paris counts only four of them. The principle of the spectacles which they are of street or not is deeply anchored in the Japanese culture.
The decoration was particularly neat, it one of the most beautiful Disney parks and is perhaps the most made a success of. The reason is that it is not the Walt Disney Company, which at the time made hunting for the expenditure (with like creed: to make more while spending less , the result was Disney' S California Adventure and the Walt Disney Studios), which financed the park but OLC.
The park uses many concepts, relating to projects of parks which were given up, such as the Disney' S America , Discovery Bay or the whole of Mysterious Island which could (or had) have been built with Disneyland Paris.
The only problem of the park, as for his/her brother is the lack of real possibility of extension in the actual position. Only a space located vis-a-vis Port Discovery and beside Lost River Delta remains free. Moreover the elevated railway could have been lengthened and connected to others " ports".
