Tokhtamysh

Tokhtamysh or Toqtamich (derivative of the Mongolian togtoo -: to establish), khan of the Horde of Gold, which it reunified (Blue Horde and White Horde), of 1376 with 1395, died in 1406.

According to the sources:

  • it goes down from Toka Temür, khan of the Bulgares of the Volga and wire of Djötchi, the oldest son of Gengis Khan;
  • he is the nephew of Urus Khan, precedent khan of the White Horde and descendant of Orda, founder of the White Horde and other wire of Djötchi.

Warlike personality, it destroyed Moscow in 1382. It was protected then the rival from Tamerlan, which however forgave him its defections on several occasions. It finishes assassinated in 1406.
