Tokat (province)

The province of Tokat is one of the 81 Province S (in Turkish: it , in the singular, and iller in the plural) of the Turkey.

Its Turkish prefecture (: valiliği ) is in the éponyme city Tokat.

Geography

Its surface is of 9.998 km ².

Population

With the census of 2000, the province was populated approximately 828.027 inhabitants, that is to say a Population density of approximately 83 hab. /km ².

Administration

The province is managed by a Turkish prefect (: vali )

Subdivisions

The province is divided into 12 Turkish districts (: ilçe , in the singular): Almus, Artova, Başçiftlik, Erbaa, Niksar, Pazar, Reşadiye, Sulusaray, Tokat, Turhal, Yeşilyurt and Zile.
