Togoontomor

Togoontomor (Toghan Temour, Toghan Tèmur, Toghon Temur, or Toghan Timour) in Mongolian, or Shundi in Chinese (1320 - 1370) is the ninth and last emperor of China of the Dynastie Yuan. Togoontomor assembled on the throne in 1333. According to the history of the Karmapa of the Tibet, 3rd Karmapa Rangjung Dorje visited the China and placed there its disciple Toghon Temur (Togoontomor) on the throne. Thanks to an elixir of long life received of the 3rd Karmapa, which turned over to Samye especially for getting to him, Togoontomor was that which lived oldest of all the Mongolian Emperors of China . The 4th Karmapa, Rolpe Dorje (1340 - 1383) was invited to go in China by Togoontomor. After a long and impressive voyage, that it carried out at the 19 years age, it arrived at the imperial palace. In China, it gave lesson during three years, and establishes many temples and monasteries there. Togoontomor is regarded as having been one of the preceding incarnations of the Taï Sitou Rinpoché S, near to the Karmapa S.

Togoontomor was reversed in 1368 by Ming Hongwu, founder of the Dynastie Ming. Its attempts to restore the Yuan dynasty was unfruitful, the Mongols turned over in their fatherland and Karakorum became again the political center of the Mongolia.
