Togian islands

The islands Togian are a picturesque archipelago of 56 islands located in bay of Tomini at Célèbes, in Indonesia. These islands volcanic are covered with forest and surrounded by reefs of Corail. One finds there various species of marine tortoises and the Dugong S, as well as a species of Macaque, Babiroussa S, the Calao with cimier, Perroquet S.

The population of Togian consists of Bobongko, Togian, Suluan and Bajau, whose languages all belong to the branch Malayo-polynésienne of the Langues austronésiennes.

Administratively, the archipelago belongs to the province of Gorontalo.

One goes to Togian from the town of Gorontalo by the km " Puspita" , a wood ferry of 150 tons and 8 cabins plus a large bridge which serves 2 times per week the port of Wakai on Togian.
