Together intercontemporain
The Ensemble intercontemporain is a musical Ensemble French specialized in the interpretation of works of and the 21e century.
History
Founded by Pierre Boulez in 1976, the unit collaborates in the exploration of the instrumental techniques like to projects associating music, dance, theater, cinema, video and visual arts. In residence with the Quoted of the music of Paris since 1995, the unit occurs and records in France and abroad.The intercontemporain Unit is financed by the Ministère of the Culture and the Communication and also receives the support of the Ville of Paris. The unit is distinct from IRCAM, even if the two institutions collaborate narrowly since their creations.
Since September 2006, the musical direction is ensured by Susanna Mälkki. This unit currently comprises 31 musicians soloists linked in his center.
