To travel (album)
To travel , left in 1996, is the third album carried out by Mike Oldfield within the framework of its contract signed with Warner in 1992 and sixteenth of its career.
It corresponds to one moment when Mike Oldfield is broken down of inspiration, after having left The Songs off Distant Earth in 1994.
The recording company suggests to him carrying out a Celtic album, very carrying kind for the sales at the time (the Corrs or Loreena McKennitt are a great success at this time).
The album contains finally five recoveries of traditional Celtic, a resumption of a Galician group ( Song off the Sun ) and three rather poor compositions of Mike Oldfield and instrumental a little longer ( Mont Saint-Michel ) on which the opinions of fans are divided.
