To release balloons

A to release balloons is a practice consisting in letting rise in the airs a great number of balloons of goldbeater's skin, inflated beforehand with a Gaz lighter than the air so that they can fly away (Hydrogène or Hélium), then to contemplate their distance with the liking of the Vent S.

Just like the lâchers of let us trap, the interest of the lâchers of balloons lies mainly in their spectacular aspect and symbolic system, and for this reason they are often organized for events or ceremonies such as the Mariage S or the Commémoration S.

With a message

The lâchers of balloons are sometimes accompanied by a ludic competition , where each competitor is seen allotting a balloon, gaining it being that whose balloon will have been carried further by the winds.

As the candidates cannot check by them-even until where the balloon will have arrived, the play rests on the hope that somebody finds the balloon when it falls to ground, and announces to which place. With this intention, each candidate attaches to his balloon a piece of Papier or a Postcard on which it registered a message asking so that one return it to him to the addresses that it indicated in glance, by specifying the place where it was discovered.

The victory can be only the fact of the chance, since the participants do not have any means of influencing the various parameters deciding of the result (trajectory of the flight, probability that a person finds once the balloon arrived on the ground, and if necessary, good-to want this person to answer the message).

This practice is an air equivalent of the Bouteille to the sea.

This technique was also used as means of transport of the Courrier, at the all beginnings of the Airmail, with the assembled balloons.
