Commander Keen is a Série of video game of the type Jeu of platform, realized by Id Software and published by Apogee Software with the beginning of the year 1990. Play

History

The player incarnates the character of Billy Blaze, a child genius 8 years to the intelligence quotient of 314; Billy Blaze built, starting from different elements recovered in its house, a spaceship which it names the Bean-with-Bacon Megarocket (literally the super rocket bacon with beans); when his/her parents leave the evening and that its baby sitter falls asleep, he fits the helmet of football of his big brother and becomes Commander Keen, the defender of the Earth.

In the first episode, whereas Billy is visiting the planet Mars, it is made steal 4 elements of its vessel, that it will have to find to be able to return at his place. Whereas it is on the way of the return, it discovers the vessel mother of Vorticons ready to attack the planet Ground; during the two episodes which follow the first, Commander Keen will have to push back the invasion of Vorticons. It will end up discovering that the chief of Vorticons is not other than Mortimer McMire, its old rival at the school.

The principle

In 2001, Activision took again the character for the Game Boy Color in a play quite simply named Commander Keen .

It also appears in the secret level (lvl 32) of Doom II , in Crystal Cellars , Bio Menace or Paganitzu , all the productions of Id Software.

Abandoned projects

An additional trilogy, The Universe Is Toast! , was planned for Christmas 1992; but Id Software being turned towards the development of Wolfenstein 3D , of Spear off Destiny then of Doom , the continuation was born never. Tom Hall announced his intention to carry out a continuation if he managed to acquire the rights necessary.
