To orbit Boom Sensor System

The Orbiter Boom Sensor System (or pole OBSS ) is an extension of the robot-like Bras of the American Space shuttle. Conceived after the loss of the Orbiteur Columbia in 2003, it is used to inspect the Heatshield vessel (in particular the leading edge of the wings, nose and the compartment of the crew) in order to detect possible damage there.
