Vivre ( Ikiru ) is a Film Japanese carried out by Akira Kurosawa and left in 1952.
Synopsis
Kenji Watanabe is an employee in end of a career, placed rather relatively well in the hierarchy. He learns from a not very discrete doctor that he will die soon of a cancer of the liver without hope to escape from it. This shock, as well as the fact that it surprises his son (for whom it had sacrificed his life after the death of his wife) to say that it hoped for his death, makes him become aware of the inanity of the life which it carried out and of the total uselessness of its work.
It then decides to leave and to try to know the pleasures of the night life, it meets a gallery of colourful characters, leaves with a colleague office, but does not manage to divert itself.
He manages to impassion himself for a cause which he tries to carry out via his administrative work, the creation of a municipal park in the place of an unhealthy waste ground, made very difficult by administrative heavinesses and the not-co-operation which reigns between the various administrative services.
After its death, his/her colleagues of office meet for the ceremony. First of all solidified, the evening becomes animated the helping Saké when his/her colleagues evoke and are questioned about its last action.
Comment
Regarded by some critical as the chief of work of Akira Kurosawa, Vivre confines sometimes with sublime when it makes wonder about the direction of the life and the fluctuations of the human heart.
