A to dine is a type of building-restaurant prefabricated typical of the North America, in particular in New England, with the New Jersey, Long Island and Westchester in New York and other parts in the North-East of the the United States, although one can find these establishments through the United States and the Canada.
Some employ also the term for the restaurants which serve as the dishes similar to the traditional kitchen of the dinner, even if they are located in more traditional buildings.
The characteristics of the dinner are a great choice of foods which are the majority American, a sober atmosphere, a counter and the fact that it is open until very late.
Abroad, the dinner was popularized in American films of the Années 1950 or on the Années 1960.
