To ballast Flatt
Lester Raymond Flatt (June 19th 1914 May -11 1979) was one of the large pioneers of the music Bluegrass.
It was born in Jackson City in the Tennessee. As singer and guitarist, it joined Blue Grass Servant boys of Bill Monroe in the years 1940 and in 1948 leaves them to found with another member of the group, Earl Scruggs, the Foggy Mountain Boys. Later, with other members of this group, without Earl Scruggs, it founds Nashville Grass. Its play of guitar and its voice in these various formations made it possible to define the traditional music bluegrass. It created many songs and the repertory that Lester implemented can appear titanic with any specialist in the American music folk.
It was introduced post-mortem into the International Bluegrass Music Hall off Honor in 1991. Its town of residence, Sparta in Tennessee, accommodates an important festival of music bluegrass in its memory.
