To Drive the Cold Winter Away

To Drive the Cold Winter Away is the second album of Loreena McKennitt, left in 1987.

The album, made up essentially the traditional ones of wintry time, is characterized by an austere environment, stripped, quasi-nun. One very often hears the toothing-stone alone, two pieces are even sung has cappella. The recording took place partly in a monastery and a church, which gives a certain reverberation to the music and a very homogeneous character and " sacré" with this album.
