Tjol Lategan
Marthinus Theunis Lategan , more known simply like Tjol Lategan , born the September 29th 1925 in Stellenbosch (South Africa), is a player of Rugby to XV which played with the team of South Africa. It evolved/moved at the station of center.
It disputed its first test match the July 16th 1949 against the New Zealand. He played his last test match against the Australiens the September 5th 1953.
After an interruption due to the Second world war 11 years, the first Test match of a series of four of the Springboks disputes in 1949 against the team of New Zealand. The All-Blacks do not carry any match of this series, losing 15-11, 12-6, 9-3, 11-8. Danie Craven begins as trainer in 1949, and it begins its career by carrying out an exploit: victorious series 4-0. The Springboks connect 10 consecutive victories, the Springboks make a round in Great Britain, Ireland and France in 1951-1952.
The Springboks of 1951-1952 marked the history. They override the Scotland 44-0, the Ireland 17-5, on the Wales 6-3, they gain the England 8-3. They gain then with Paris 25-3 against France after a victory against the Barbarians.

In 1953, the Springboks argument a series of 4 matches against the Wallabies and for the first test with Elect Park, it is a victory of South Africa 25-3. The Australian ones leave applauded upright the September 5th 1953 Newlands in the Cape after a victory 18-14 in the 2nd test. The captain wallaby John Solomon is carried in triumph by two South-African players. It had been the first defeat of the Springboks for 15 years and 1938. The two following matches result in two South-African victories.
